There are literally hundreds of places to eat in Camden Town, so whether you’re chasing cheap and cheerful or haute cuisine it’s here for you. Famous (and sometimes infamous) for market stall food – some of which is fabulous beyond belief – don’t forget about places like the York & Albany, Market, Caponata and Gilgamesh for a bit of posh too.

Asakusa is the go to place for the Japanese living in London, as well as for foodies who love Japanese food. The fare there is authentic, varied, and fresh. The dishes are well cooked and overall quite impressive. Plus, the price are extremely reasonable. Catering for private parties of up to 25 people is available upon request. A takeaway menu is also available. If you're trying out Japanese food for the first time, or are fed up with the omnipresent sushi, come to this friendly restaurant. The grilled fish is excellent as are the tempura dishes.

They aim to source the best available ingredients and developing simple Japanese dishes incorporating local produce. Think globally, but act locally where possible is an ambitious mantra when serving a product originating from the other side of the globe. However some Japanese ingredients are now successfully produced under license in Europe like Kikkoman Soy and Mitzukan Sushi Vinegar, both used by Feng Sushi. The products they import from the Far East are guaranteed to arrive to them by boat to minimize the impact on the environment.
